What's On
Travelling Film Festival 2023 Katherine
Travelling Film Festival, the regional tour of Sydney Film Festival, will return to Katherine from February 2023 at Katherine Cinema 3. The program will showcase six acclaimed feature films, one superb documentary and three exceptional Australian short films, direct from last year’s Sydney Film Festival and other major international festivals.
Opening the festival is Sweet As, winner of the NETPAC Award at Toronto Film Festival, an endearing coming of age story which follows a 15-year-old Indigenous girl who finds escape and inspiration through photography during a youth-therapy trip in the stunning outback of Western Australia.
Other highlights include Triangle of Sadness, winner of the Cannes Palme d'Or 2022, Ruben Östlund’s hilarious, biting, stomach-churning satire on the mega-rich; The Blue Caftan, Maryam Touzani’s Cannes Un Certain Regard-selected drama reveals a love triangle between a young gay man and a middle-aged couple in a small Moroccan town; Millie Lies Low, emerging star Ana Scotney (Cousins, The Breaker Upperers SFF 2018) shines in a darkly comic Kiwi caper about impostor syndrome.
